7.6. Summary

In this chapter you learned about some of the system management tools found in Windows Server 2008. Microsoft has considerably beefed up its offering in this area, adding a number of new command-line utilities, as well as a central server management framework, the Server Manager. The Server Manager consolidates MMC snap-ins that were a number of separate utilities in previous versions of the server operating system. Computer system identification, roles and features, Terminal Services and Web Server configuration, Event Viewer, Services, Device Manager, Task Scheduler, Server Backup, and Disk Management are all components in the Server Manager, along with a host of other tools.
