13.5. Summary

In this chapter you learned about the radically new version of IIS 7.0 that ships with the Windows Server 2008. Windows Server 2008 brings this new technology to full realization by providing a server platform on which you can create and manage websites locally and remotely.

IIS 7.0 is a framework on which different functional modules are applied. In the IIS Manager you are now able to manage both IIS and ASP.NET from the same console. Management functions have been greatly consolidated, and a number of wizards make the job of site management much easier to perform.
