Chapter 7. Server Management

Windows Server 2008 is more of an evolutionary release rather than a revolutionary advance. There are some great new features in this server version: virtualization at the operating system level and PowerShell are two that come to mind. Also, the significantly enhanced .NET Framework, a rewritten TCP/IP stack, and the image-based deployment tools you've read about offer important value to Windows Server 2008 adopters. Those features are also incremental improvements. However, there are so many incremental improvements that make Windows Server 2008, when taken as a body of work, significantly easier to manage and less prone to user error.
