10.3. Mobile Clients

The most important improvement related to managing mobile clients on Windows Server 2008 has been the addition of the Network Access Protection (NAP) policy and infrastructure (described in detail in Chapter 5). That infrastructure was put into place primarily to protect networks from penetration or infection from laptops brought into the network from outside.

To enable mobile devices to work on NAP, you will need to create rights account certificates (RACs) and use licenses for applications that conform to the Active Directory Rights Management Services (AD RMS) standard. To enable certification of mobile clients, follow these steps:
