12.3. Core Improvements

The improvements in Windows Terminal Server 2008's core functions affect improvements in the transfer protocol, the support for additional .NET functionality, high-function user desktop experiences, and more powerful peripheral access and control. Some of these changes are obvious to users, but other changes are not.

One of the important new tools to manage Terminal Server 2008 is the Terminal Server section of the Server Manager, shown in Figure 12.3. This management tool allows you to add roles, check connections, get reports and statistics, manage sessions, install and perform licensing, and many more tasks. Throughout this chapter we will return to this tool again and again.
