Microsoft wants Windows Server 2008 to be the center of your networking world. Of course, they want Windows Server 2008 to be surrounded by Windows clients, but rarely is that exclusively the case. Given the open source nature of Linux, and the strong and sometimes dominant roles that Unix applications and Microsoft desktops play, Windows must accommodate these clients as well.
