Updating Windows

Keeping Windows Server 2003 up-to-date with the latest relevant service pack, security patches, and hot fixes maximizes the security and stability of the operating system, saving your company money.

There are several ways to keep a server updated:

  • Using the Windows Update Web site from the server to manually download relevant service packs, security patches, and hot fixes

  • Using the Windows Update Catalog (available from the Windows Update Web site) to download updates to a network server, from which you can manually install the updates, or deploy using Group Policy
