Assigning Registry Permissions
The Registry is a database of settings used in Windows. It includes several different groups of settings referred to as keys or hives. Windows Server 2008 has the following keys that you can access using the Registry editor. Each of these keys has many subkeys, or subtrees:
You can launch the Registry by clicking Start, typing regedit in the Start Search text box, and pressing Enter.
