One of the most powerful and useful security features in Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and Windows 2000 is Group Policy. Group Policy enables administrators to manage large numbers of users and computers running Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000, and Microsoft Windows XP Professional centrally in the Active Directory directory service. The biggest security benefit of Group Policy is that you can use it to deploy and maintain a consistent security baseline configuration on computers that are members of a domain.
