Summary

In this chapter, you examined printer management by using VBScript, starting by looking at the Win32_Printer WMI class. You wrote a couple of scripts that monitored the status of printers connected to our print servers. You looked at creating a subroutine out of a Select Case construction to convert cryptic printer status codes into readable text. You examined how to use the Count property to avoid attempting operations on an empty collection. Finally, you concluded this chapter by looking at the Win32_PrintJobs WMI class and using it to monitor the activity of print queues.
