A key consideration during the design and implementation of GPOs is performance—not only the speed at which GPO settings are applied to computers and users, but also the potential performance degradation of the network, servers, and domain controllers that are all associated with Group Policy. The degradation to the network and servers can be attributed to replication of numerous GPO changes and the application of many GPO settings (especially software installation).The speed at which GPOs are applied can also be affected by many settings and implementation flaws.
