Best Practices

The following are best practices for deploying disk images with Sysprep:

• Fully automate the image-building process to reduce errors and add consistency.

• Use the [SysprepMassStorage] section to create a disk image that works on multiple hardware configurations.

• If you’re using Sysprep and disk images to deploy Windows XP Professional, design in to it a method for migrating users’ settings and data, as described in Chapter 18.

  Follow the guidelines in Knowledge Base article 240126 at http://support.microsoft.com for using Sysprep with NTFS volumes.
