The following sections describe migrating VBA and COM add-ins.

VBA Add-Ins

The default location for VBA add-ins changed in Office 2000, Office XP, and Office 2003 Editions. Placing add-ins in these locations will result in per-user availability of the add-ins. The locations listed below contain VBA add-ins:

• %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Word\Startup

• %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\XLStart

The original add-in paths are still available, and note that it is not necessary to explicitly set the File Location Startup options for add-ins to load from those paths. The following are per-computer locations:

• C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\Startup

• C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\XLStart

COM Add-Ins ...
