Introduction

The purpose of this book is to save programmers time when developing applications for Windows 2000. New APIs and standards introduced with Windows 2000 continue to make a developer's life challenging. I wanted to have a book that covered as many of the changes that could fit between the covers. I would have liked to stretch it more, but I believe I covered the main areas of the API that most programmers use.
