While I was preparing a talk titled "Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 IDE Tips and Tricks" at the Microsoft TechEd Developers Conference 2008, Rob Caron, a marketing manager for Visual Studio, suggested I put together a list of Visual Studio factoids consisting of little-known facts about the history of Visual Studio. The first person who came to my mind to interview was Douglas Hodges, a principal architect on the Visual Studio team.
