Summary

This chapter presented the fundamentals of Windows Azure, which includes setting up your development environment to run a local version of the AppFabric and Azure storage services. You must download and install the SDK (version 1.2 at the time of printing) to get these items and the Visual Studio project templates.

The chapter also walked you through an example of building an Azure Web role application. You created an Azure account for both hosting and storage. Finally you configured and deployed your application to a production environment. You should be able to build on these fundamentals to create and deploy your own applications in the cloud.
