Working with the ASP.NET Controls

Visual Studio 2010 and the new version of ASP.NET introduce a few new controls and a number of control enhancements. We have already covered a few of the ASP.NET controls in this chapter, such as Web Parts, labels, and buttons. Our intent for the following sections is to provide broad coverage of the many other controls in ASP.NET. This includes the standard controls as well as controls for validation, login, navigation, and data. We also spend some time discussing user-defined controls.

Note

See Chapter 20, “Creating Rich Browser Applications” for coverage of the AJAX controls.
