Web development was not a big part of Visual Basic 6.0, although there were a few Web-focused features such as DHTML applications. The Microsoft technology of choice for Web development prior to the release of .NET was Active Server Pages (ASP). You might have written some VB6 COM DLLs to use from an ASP application, but the actual code for the Web pages was usually written using other tools (such as Notepad, Visual Interdev, or even FrontPage). With the arrival of .NET, the situation has really changed, making Web development just another type of project in the set of available applications that you can build with Visual Basic .NET.
