Building ratios

We often like to determine the significance of an item within its group, based on its value when compared to the group total. To do that, we use a ratio that indicates the item's importance as a percent age (portion of 100). This recipe examines various techniques for building ratios, based on value data and the presentation of that ratio within the data.

Getting ready

This model continues with the sales data that is being used in previous chapters. Open the Ratios workbook and import the Sales_Header, Sales_Detail, Products, and Dates tables to a new tabular model.
