Configuring global e-mail notification infrastructure settings
SCSM has numerous notification capabilities. The e-mail notification capabilities require you to configure global infrastructure settings. This recipe provides the steps to complete the infrastructure settings the e-mail functionality depends on.
Getting ready
Ensure you have a SCSM-supported SMTP server and have configured your infrastructure to allow the SCSM Management server to send e-mails. Record the following details:
- Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of the SMTP server
- The return e-mail address for notifications
- The configured allowed port for SMTP communication
You must also ensure that you are in the SCSM Administrator role and have the SCSM console open.
