Supported Versions of SQL Server
System Center Orchestrator 2012 requires a SQL server to host runbooks, log files, and configuration data. Orchestrator 2012 supports only the 2008 R2 version of Microsoft SQL Server. Only the basic features of the Database Engine Service are required. The installation wizard automatically selects SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS as the default collation to create the Orchestration database when the database is installed using the Orchestrator installation wizard. If the database is installed ahead of Orchestrator installation, this is the collation that should be used. Also, the installing user requires at least dbcreator rights on the SQL Server instance.
