Preparing the SQL Database Instance

Prior to installing Orchestrator, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 must first be installed on the system to serve as host for the Orchestration database. The full version of SQL Server 2008 R2 is the only supported version, although either Standard or Enterprise Editions can be used. The only SQL Server component required to support Orchestrator is the SQL Server Database Engine Services. It is not required to install the Orchestration database before Orchestrator installation, as the Orchestrator installation wizard can install the database and assign the required permissions.
