Designing and Using Runbooks

The operational efficiencies that are gained from using System Center Orchestrator 2012 are directly tied to the design and use of runbooks. A runbook is a set of instructions that are combined to create a workflow, or an automated series of tasks. The individual steps within a runbook are called activities. Within each runbook, additional controls and properties are used to dictate the sequence of activities within the runbook, resulting in a highly flexible, completely automated sequence of tasks.
