Protecting Exchange Databases

The steps used to protect Exchange Server 2010 databases using DPM are almost identical regardless of whether you are trying to only protect databases on a standalone mailbox server or an entire DAG. For the purposes of this example, the following steps describe how to protect databases on servers in a DAG:

1. While logged on to the DPM server as a domain user account that is a member of the local administrators group, open the DPM 2012 Administrator Console.

2. Next, ensure that all members of the DAG have the protection agent installed and the agent is reachable with a normal status.
