Data Protection Manager 2006

Data Protection Manager was released September 27, 2005. This first version introduced the world to Microsoft’s vision of Continuous Data Protection for application and file servers using seamlessly integrated disk and tape media; however, this version was limited to protecting file servers residing in the same Active Directory domain. Although it was a starting point, DPM’s initial release had very little market traction because of its limited scope.
