UNIX/Linux Log File Template
The UNIX/Linux Log File Template enables a log file on a UNIX/Linux system to be queried for a keyword.
In this example, the lab sles1.companyxyz.com virtual machine is used.
To create the log file monitor, complete the following steps:
1. Navigate to the Authoring view, expand Authoring if not expanded, and expand and select Management Pack Templates.
2. Right-click on any of the subtree items and select Add Monitoring Wizard.
3. On the Add Monitoring Wizard page, select UNIX/Linux LogFile and click Next.
4. In the Name and Description field, use Test-NonMSFTLogfile as the Name, select MP1 in the Select Destination Management Pack drop-down menu, and click Next.
