Working with Management Packs

In working with management packs, the Operations Manager administrator will be performing many of the same administrative tasks for each management pack. This includes importing management packs, downloading management packs, exporting management packs, and tuning management packs.

Note

OpsMgr 2012 uses the same management packs as OpsMgr 2007 R2.

In the Administration view of the console is the Management Pack tree folder. This folder contains all management packs loaded into Operations Manager. With OpsMgr 2012, the administrator can download management packs directly from Microsoft’s hosted catalog as opposed to manually downloading the bits, installing them, and then importing them.
