Operations Manager Database

The operations database (OperationsManager) stores the monitoring rules and the active data collected from monitored systems. This database has a seven-day default retention period.

The Operations Manager database is a Microsoft SQL Server 2008 database that contains all of the data needed by Operations Manager for day-to-day monitoring. Because you can only have a single Operations Manager database, it is very important to ensure that it is sized appropriately. The most critical resource used by the Operations Manager database is the I/O subsystem, but the CPU and RAM are also important.
