Adding the Hardware Class in Client Settings

After compiling the configuration.mof on the test client (WS3), the next step is to add the custom hardware information into the SCCM hardware inventory collection.

1. Launch the Configuration Manager console and select the Administration space.

2. Select the Client Settings container.

3. Select the properties of the Default Client Settings.

4. Select the Hardware Inventory section.

5. Click the Set Classes button. This shows all the classes that are collected by the hardware inventory.

6. Click the Add button.

7. Click the Connect button.

8. In the Computer Name field, enter the name of the computer where the configuration.mof file was compiled, in this case WS3, and click Connect.
