Configuring a Complex Application Source

Configuring complex applications requires special configuration of the source, installation automation, and deployment types. In some cases, updates need to be slipstreamed into the source or software keys need to be provided. The next several sections go over the deployment of a common complex application, Microsoft Office 2010.

The subsequent sections describe the creation of a Microsoft Office Enterprise 2010 software deployment. The first step when setting up a software deployment is establishing the software source directory. This is typically a share on a file server.

First, copy the contents of the Office 2010 media to the source folder. For the subsequent example, create the following share:
