Configuring a Windows Installer Package (MSI) Application

MSI packages are the easiest to configure. They typically include default deployment types or programs as well as have all the program, version, language, and other information already integrated into the package.

By way of example, the Microsoft XML Notepad will be configured. This is a handy utility for viewing and editing XML files. It is deployed using a Windows Installer package and its MSI is downloadable from the following link: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=7973.
