Creating Deployment Packages

To be deployed, updates must be downloaded from Microsoft. The updates can be downloaded in advance individually, from the software update group, or when configuring the deployment. Whenever the updates are downloaded, they are stored in deployment packages. Deployment packages serve as libraries of updates, allowing devices to search and download only those updates that they need. Deployment packages are stored on Distribution Points, much like application content. Each update is only downloaded once and stored in one deployment package, ensuring that content is not duplicated throughout the infrastructure.
