Software Update Point
The Software Update Point (SUP) communicates with the WSUS 3.0 components to receive data from Microsoft Update about patches and updates available for clients.
Each primary site server that will leverage Software Update Deployment of Configuration Manager needs to have the WSUS 3.0 components installed along with the Software Update Point. The Software Update Point manages the Software Update Client Agent on systems that are managed by Configuration Manager. The Software Update Client Agent is installed with the Configuration Manager client.
