Understanding Component Requirements

Configuration Manager’s simple installation and relative ease of use often belie the potential complexity of its underlying components. This complexity can be managed with the right amount of knowledge of some of the advanced concepts of Configuration Manager design and implementation.

Each Configuration Manager component has specific design requirements and a good knowledge of these factors is required before beginning the design of Configuration Manager. Hardware and software requirements must be taken into account as well as factors involving specific Configuration Manager components, such as the Site Server, Management Point, Distribution Points, Native mode authentication, and backup requirements.
