Chapter 4. Using Data Flow Transformations

After completing this chapter, you will be able to:

  • Understand how data flow is constructed in a package.

  • Understand the function of data flow transformations and when to use them.

  • Create a new SSIS project and add a data flow task to it.

  • Use Conditional Split, Derived Column, and Multicast transformations to aggregate, merge, distribute, and modify data.

  • Configure how a component handles errors.
