SQL Server 2005 Capacity Limits

Although rare, every once in a while you may encounter a SQL Server 2005 component preset capacity limit. The most common capacity limits are "maximum number of columns per index" and "maximum number of indexes/statistics per table." There will also be times when you have questions about the maximum number of rows you can have in a table or the number of database instances you can host on a single system. Table 2-11 helps answer these questions by listing the maximum values for various SQL Server database engine objects.
