Microsoft and SQL Server 2000 Contributions to Data Warehousing

Microsoft is truly committed to the advancement of data warehousing using its products (see Figure 30.5). It has helped developed a Data Warehousing Framework that describes the integration of technologies (data access, metadata, transformations, end user query, and so on) throughout the cycles of building, managing, and using data warehousing. Microsoft is also providing support in its Office, BackOffice, and Visual Studio product lines for each of the components of the Warehousing Framework.
