Merge Replication and Resolving Conflicts—Hands-on Example

The following section walks through creating a merge publication, subscribing to the merge publication, and using the conflict resolution manager. The following prerequisites apply to the exercise:

  • Your SQL Server is configured to use a distribution database (local or remote; for details on adding a distribution database, see Chapter 27).

  • The pubs database is enabled for Merge Replication publication.

In this exercise, perform the following steps:

Create a database called DBA_pubs.
2.
Create a merge publication called test_authors.
3.
Push the publication.
4.
Make changes to the information in one of the articles.
5.
Replicate the changes.
6.
Deal with conflicts.
