Replication Monitor

You have defined a publication and are ready to push data to a subscriber. What if something goes wrong? SQL Server provides a tool to aid DBAs with troubleshooting replication problems. The Replication Monitor helps pinpoint problems with replication.

When a server functions as a distributor and the user is in the sysadmin role, replication monitoring is enabled. The Replication Monitor can be used for viewing publishers, publications, and all subscriptions. The following replication objects can be monitored by the Replication Monitor:

  • Snapshot Agent

  • LogReader Agent

  • Distribution Agent

  • Merge Agent

  • Miscellaneous Agents (cleanup)

  • Replication Alerts
