Configuring SQL Mail

In order to use the SQL Mail stored procedures and to process incoming email messages, you must configure the SQL Mail account used by the MSSQLServer process. Emails used by alerts and jobs statuses (that is, SQL Server Agent) are not performed by the MSSQLServer process email account but by the SQL Agent account, which must be configured separately. Let's look at how to set up the SQL Mail account first (that is, MSSQLServer process). To do this, follow these steps:
