XML Integration

Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a hypertext programming language that provides a format which allows you to describe structured data. This creates the ability to precisely declare the contents of the page that can be used for viewing or updating across multiple platforms.

XML's power rests with its ability to separate the user interface from structured data. Using XML, you can define your own, unlimited number of tags that define structured data. So, you can see that by using HTML, you merely use tags to display data in a browser (setting bold and italic options for instance); whereas by using XML, you can associate elements in the XML document with elements in a database.
