The DTS Framework
DTS introduces a set of new database objects and tools to help with the movement of information from place to place. Simple wizards provide the typical question-and-answer approach to importing or exporting data. The DTS Designer gives more knowledgeable users the ability to create more complex transformations that utilize many tables and advanced workflow techniques. DTS provides you the access to the underlying transformation engine via COM objects. This allows you to build complete import, export, or transformation applications using any Component Object Model (COM) enabled environment such as Visual Basic, a Windows scripting host, or Active Server Pages.
