Q1:Who in my organization should be tasked with managing the SQL Server maintenance plan?
A1: If your organization has a designated DBA, he should probably be responsible for the maintenance plan. If not, the LAN manager is probably the next best person. Regardless of who is responsible for the maintenance plan, it is important that the someone is the owner of this plan. SQL Server 2000 still requires day-to-day monitoring.
