Log Shipping Overview
SQL Server 2000 and 7.0 provide a utility called Log Shipping. The purpose of the log shipping utility is to automatically copy and apply the log from database A to database B (see Figure 10.20) . The source and target databases can be on the same server or separate servers.

The Log Shipping tool takes the changes in the source database and automatically applies them to the target database.
