Different Editions of SQL Server

SQL Server now comes in the following editions:

Personal

Standard

Developer

Windows CE

Desktop engine (MSDE)

Enterprise

All the editions of SQL Server share the majority of SQL Server 2000 features and are built on the same code base. Installing and using each edition is the same; for example, you can manage all editions with the Enterprise Manager. The key differences are where in your enterprise each edition fits in. The personal edition is for Windows 9.x or Windows NT workstations, and can be used by developers or mobile users. The Developer edition is targeted at the enterprise developer.
