SQL Server Integration Services is a data consolidation and ETL tool. SSIS provides many built-in tasks and components that help you to create the data transfer scenarios. An SSIS project contains one or more packages. Each SSIS package has a control flow design area that contains multiple tasks with their order of execution. There is also a Data Flow task that is the main part of ETL development; you can use the sources, transformations, and destination components to a great extent with different data providers and apply complex transformations.
