Summary

This chapter provides an overview of PowerShell and how it has been specifically implemented in SQL Server 2008. Microsoft is putting a lot of effort into integrating PowerShell into all its server-based products, including SQL Server. Support for PowerShell in SQL Server 2008 still has a way to go before it could ever be considered the main scripting language, but the functionality available now is worth looking at.
