What’s New with PowerShell

The integration of Windows PowerShell into the SQL Server environment is new to SQL Server 2008. The PowerShell scripting language has been around for some time, but it was not installed with prior versions of SQL Server or integrated into the SQL Server environment. With SQL Server 2008, it is installed, and there are now means for easily accessing SQL Server objects via this powerful scripting shell.
