Implementing Cell-Level Restrictions

Cell-level restrictions can be implemented to determine whether a user can read or write the data of a given cell. A logical MDX expression evaluates to True or False, determining whether a particular permission is granted.

Three cell-level permissions are supported within Analysis Services: Read, Read Contingent, and Read/Write. If the logical expression associated with the Read permission evaluates to True, the user is permitted to read the current cell’s data.
