VM Host Recommendations
The VM Host is the underlying server where the VM instances are installed. The VM Host must be configured properly in order to achieve optimal performance for the host, the VM guests running on the host and the SQL Server Instance(s) running within the VM guests. The following list contains some of the more useful tips for configuring the host for best performance:
1. Use the most current version of the OS running on the VM Host. OS improvements in virtualization are advancing with each OS release and can vastly improve the performance and flexibility within the VM environment.
